Meeting the Syrian Parliament Speaker in Damascus, head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Majlis of the Islamic Republic of Iran said on Tuesday "What is going to happen in Syria today will be a swift response to all the crime done by the US and its regional and international allies in the past 3 years.”
Alaeddin Boroujerdi who was Meeting Mohammad Jihad al-Laham said "We have no doubt that the victory will be repeated today within the Syrian borders with Divine favors.”
He added "It is interesting now that the US which used to disregard the Syrian government as legitimate is now calling for the elections to be cancelled, saying that they will be happy if Assad remained in office for two more years. This proves that they are afraid of the strong resolution of the Syrian people.”
"With this election there will remain no further opportunity for US officials to claim that they intend to protect the people of Syria against the government,” Boroujerdi stated.
He further said "
Pointing to the meeting of the friends of Syria states in Tehran and the visit paid to Damascus by some parliamentary teams, he said "Our previous trip was made under circumstances when the US used to threat to military actions. Today we have made it to Syria when a great political victory is taken place here.”
Al-Laham in turn stated that resistance was been the key to the Syrian people’s victory.
"There is no doubt that the Syrian election will bring a resolute answer to the enemies of Syria,” he asserted.
