TEHRAN, Sept 04 - Iran announced that it has freed sever crew members of the UK Stena Impero oil tanker detained in Hormuz Strait.

Iran: 7 crew members of detained UK ship freed

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said on Wednesday that the seven crew of this tanker were freed on humanitarian grounds and could leave Iran soon.

On 19 July, the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) announced the British oil tanker Stenaimpero has been impounded near the Strait of Hormuz, Persian Gulf.

The tanker was moving the wrong way, trying to enter the Strait of Hormuz in waters normally used by ships and tankers exiting the strait.
