TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club(YJC)_ Seyyed Abbas Mousavi in response to reporters question about a UAE official’s claims on the country’s unwillingness to exacerbate more crises in the region and on solving regional problem with negotiations and avoiding a local war stated, “The Islamic Republic has always insisted on diplomatic dialogue as the only way to resolve regional issues and will use its full potential to create space for negotiations between regional countries and has been at the forefront in this field.”
“The suggestion to construct a ‘regional negotiations assembly’, a ‘non- aggression pact’ and eventually unveiling the ‘Hormouz Peace Endeavor ’ are all in the program for the 74th session of the UN General Assembly by the Islamic Republic of Iran," he explained.
The spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of Iran, while on the topic of the presenting ‘Hormouz Peace Endeavor’ to the leaders of the countries south of the Persian Gulf and Iraq, said, “This plan includes the conjoined safety of us and our neighbors based on the adherence to common principles such as not threatening to use force against each other, resolving crises peacefully, respecting state sovereignty, not interfering in internal affairs of other countries in the region and the right of nations self- determination.”
Mousavi emphasized Iran's belief that by initiating this process, while respecting the differences of opinion, the common interests of all countries in the region will be secured. The Islamic Republic hopes that the regional countries will accept the 'Hormuz Peace Endeavour' and begin comprehensive dialogue to root out disputes in the region and take practical, serious and effective steps to solve local problems.
