Hassan Rouhani calls for immediate resettlement of earthquake victimsTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club(YJC)_ Hassan Rouhani, President of Iran, on Wednesday in a meeting with his cabinet, while wishing patience upon families who lost loved ones, emphasized “we must attempt to assist the victims of the November earthquake, who live in the cold region of north west Iran, as soon as possible.”

“We must provide the people of east Azerbaijan comfort for the cold months ahead,” he said. “In the winter, the people of this providence must not be sleeping inside tents and one of the closest ways to help them is to rent rooms and houses. We will pay for all the costs.”

“I call for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the crisis headquarters and other government agencies to first resettle the people who have no place to stay and then begin taking actions such as cleanup, removal and excavation. The people must not feel alone at this time and their homes must be rebuilt better than before,” he added.

Rouhani explained that since the first moment and hour, all government officials (both local and state), multiple ministries and different government agencies have been present to help treatment, displacement and temporary housing. He thanked everybody who aided in making water, gas and electricity available in a time where there was a shortage.

The president also praised the armed forces, IRIB and the media and all those who helped. “This is a moment of pride for our nation and our history that wherever there is a problem, the people come together and work as a whole. This is a part of our moral and cultural honor that we have inherited from Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and Imam Sadegh (PBUH),” he stated.
