Tehran, YJC. Senior lawmaker says 190 thousand SWUs enrichment is the least Iran could comply to.
Head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of
the Majlis of the Islamic Republic of Iran has warned that should the Six
Majors deny Iran the right to enrich its basic 190 thousand SWUs of uranium,
the country will forget all about agreements and resume its currently suspended
20-pct enrichment.
Tasnim news agency reports that Alaeddin Boroujerdi pointed
to ayatollah Khamenei’s recent speech and said "By outlining the general limits
of Iran’s nuclear needs, the Supreme Leader in fact provided a decisive answer
to the excessive demands of the P5+1.”
"What the Supreme Leader said about Iran needing 190
thousand SWUs is in fact the most basic demand that Iran would make in the
nuclear negotiations. Iran naturally needs more than 190 thousand SWUs, but is
content with that amount,” the lawmaker added.
Pointing out that a Majlis bill obliges the government to provide
20 thousand MW nuclear electricity from the Bushehr power plant, the Boroujerd
representative to the Majlis maintained "That amount of electricity from the Bushehr
power plant takes a considerable number of centrifuges which must be mentioned
in the negotiations.”
He added "They saying that we have to take some of our
activities out of Fordo to other sites is so ridiculous, nonsensical, and
unacceptable. They know that Fordo is highly secure, that is why they have
grown sensitive about this site.”
"If the P5+1 disregard Iran’s rights, rejecting needs such
as the procurement of 190 thousand SWUs enriched uranium, we will quickly go
back to our past activities, the most important of which is to resume the
20-pct enrichment,” Head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee asserted.
