Tehran, YJC. Stone lions have been a feature of Kazerun’s historical plain for ages.

People of the area would place a stone lion on their deceased one’s grave as a sign of chivalry and higher human aspirations.

The historical plain of Kazerun, Fars is famous for such lions, handicrafts that have turned to a local symbol.

But despite many precautions that the monuments are exposed to natural and human damage, nothing has been done yet to protect them, Mehr News Agency reports.

Mohsen Abbaspour, member of the Kazerun Youth Seminal Association said that as theft and other human damages threaten the monuments, it is best to collect the most salient samples to be kept in a well_protected place.
