Tehran, YJC. Reports tell of increasing numbers of children with Epidermolysis bullosa in southern Kerman.

Epidermolysis bullosa or simply EB is a genetic is an inherited connective tissue disease causing blisters in the skin and mucosal membranes.

The disease has grown rampant in the southern Kerman province of Iran due to ignorance and lack of genetics tests prior to marriage.

Traditions in this area strongly favor consanguine marriage which comprises the cause for this disease.
