Wednesday, 19 May 2021 (YJC) _ The Iranian Health Ministry spox announced 12,789 new Covid-19 cases has been detected in the country.
The Iranian Health Ministry spokesperson announced on Wednesday that 12,789 new COVID-19 infections have been detected across the country in the past 24 hours.
“12,789 COVID-19 infections and 233 deaths due to the disease in the past 24 hours” the spox said while adding that “This brings the total number of cases to more than 2,792,204.”
The spokesperson went on to say that “233 COVID patients have lost their lives in the past 24 hours that bring the total death toll to 77,765.”
“5,158 individuals are experiencing critical conditions while 2,272,719 have already gained recovery.” ministry added.
According to the latest figures, more than 164,995,012 people have so far been infected with the novel coronavirus globally, with the deaths standing at 3,421,347 and recoveries amounting to 143,979,229.
