Sunday, 6 June 2021 (YJC) _ The Iranian Health Ministry spox announced over 5,000 new cases and 122 deaths across the country.
According to the Iranian Health Ministry, 5,612 new COVID-19 infections have been recorded across the country in the past 24 hours.
“5,612 COVID-19 infections due to the disease in the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of cases to more than 2,966,364” the spox said.
The spokeswoman went on to say that “122 COVID patients have lost their lives in the past 24 hours that bring the total death toll to 81,063.”
“3,769 people are being treated in ICUs in hospitals across the country, while 2,552,401 have already gained recovery,” ministry said while adding that “Of the new cases detected since Saturday, 1,027 patients have been admitted to the hospital.”
She added that 20,688,723 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out across the country so far.
According to the latest figures, more than 173,788,224 people have so far been infected with the novel coronavirus globally, with the deaths standing at 3,737,925 and recoveries amounting to 156,679,759.
