Wednesday, 9 June 2021 (YJC) _ The Iranian Interior Minister announced that due to health protocols measures the number of poll stations and the voting hours will be increased in Iran’s Presidential Election.

Interior Minister: the number of poll stations and the voting hours to be increasedDuring his remarks in a joint meeting between Iran's Election Office and the central executive apparatus to review reports and comments over the 2021 Iran presidential election, the Iranian Interior Minister announced that due to health protocols measures the number of poll stations and the voting hours will be increased in Iran’s Presidential Election.

“A comprehensive report was submitted in this meeting regarding the security issues of the election process and its necessary measures,” he said while adding that “We will not face any special security issue during the election in the current situation as the continuous observance shows.”

He went on to talk about the measures related to observing health protocols and announced that “The number of poll stations and the voting hours will be increased, to observe health protocols and social distance measures.”

Finally, he said “In order to not to spread the virus, all agents in poll stations must have a certificate of negative test.”
