In a statement, Hamas called the Zionist regime's accession to the African Union as an observer shocking and condemned.
The statement said: "This decision legitimizes the occupying regime on our soil and gives it more opportunity to continue its plans and to violate the rights of Palestine, as well as to continue the brutal crime against our nation."

The statement came after the Zionist regime joined the African Union on Friday as an observer.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry announced that Adamsu Alali, the regime's ambassador to Addis Ababa, had submitted his credentials as an observer to the African Union.
