Tuesday,27 July 2021 (YJC)_ The new 55-year-old Chinese ambassador to the United States has left for his new mission.
China's new ambassador to the United States, King Gang,went to US today (Tuesday). The visit of the new Chinese ambassador to the United States came a day after a meeting between Wendy Sherman, the top US envoy, and Chinese diplomats ended without a specific outcome and continued mutual emphasis on the former positions.
The 55-year-old ambassador replaces retired 68-year-old Choi Tiankai. With 8 years of service as Chinese ambassador, Tiankai had the longest history as Chinese ambassador to the United States and was a respected figure in Beijing and Washington.
Kane has no experience in US affairs with a background as Deputy Secretary of State as well as European Affairs.
