Saturday, 7 August 2021 (YJC)_ The continuing trend of Corona disease in the country hosting the Olympic Games has crossed the one million patient.

Corona cases cross the one million infected in JapanThe total number of people suffering from corona disease in Japan on Friday, while the country is in the fifth wave of the disease, exceeded one million people. This number is growing faster than ever.

The corona virus was first detected in Japan on January 16 last year. At the time, a 30-year-old man in Kanagawa, south of Tokyo, tested positive for the virus. He had traveled to Wuhan, China, where the Corona outbreak first began.

The death toll rose to 10,000 in April last year, shortly after the government declared the first state of emergency.

On April 9 this year, while the alpha strain of the corona virus, which was first detected in the UK, spread mainly in the Kansai region of western Japan, putting Japan in the fourth wave of the disease, the total number of infected people reached 500,000.

In the fifth wave, which began in June, the highly contagious Corona delta strain is spreading mainly in Tokyo and the surrounding area.

Over the past nine days, more than 100,000 new cases have been identified.
