Monday, 9 August 2021 (YJC)_ Arab media reported that Iraq was to invite the Iranian president to attend an international meeting in Baghdad.
Iraq is scheduled to hold an international summit with some regional and Western countries later this month.
Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed reported, quoting some sources, that Baghdad would invite Iranian President Seyyed Ibrahim Ra'isi to attend the event in the coming days.
Amel al-Fayez, a member of the Iraqi parliament's foreign relations committee, has previously announced that about 10 countries, including Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia and some other Arab countries, as well as some European and American countries, will attend the Baghdad summit.
According to the report, Baghdad has already invited Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to participate in the summit.
