Tehran, YJC. Iran’s air defense chief says this year the Khatam ul Anbia Air Defense base has issued 1600 warnings to aircrafts trespassing Iran’s airspace.
Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili who was speaking to Iran’s
police officials on the occasion of the Police Week said "To control suburban
and inner-city roads is a duty with the police.”
"In the same fashion, it is a duty with the air defense base to control air corridors and sensitive areas, such as nuclear facilities.”
He stated "The air defense system is by times more sensitive about vital spots. Whoever plans to pass these places by will see harsh consequences.”
Esmaili said "The police gives decisive response to the aerial trespasser as well. Since the beginning of the year, we have had more than 1600 cases of warning.”
The air defense chief noted "If our young officer is negligent about one single warning, our airspace will turn to be like that of some countries in which all sorts of manned and unmanned aircrafts fly without a permission.”
