Wednesday, 18 August 2021 (YJC)_ The Iranian Health Ministry spox announced that 39,174 new Covid-19 cases has been detected in the country in the past 24 hrs.
The Iranian Health Ministry spokesperson announced on Wednesday that 39,174 new COVID-19 infections have been detected across the country in the past 24 hours.
“39,174 COVID-19 infections and 583 deaths due to the disease in the past 24 hours” the spox said while adding that “This brings the total number of cases to more than 4,556,417.”
The spokesperson went on to say that “583 COVID patients have lost their lives in the past 24 hours that bring the total death toll to 99,691.”
“7,490 people are being treated in ICUs in hospitals across the country, while 3,814,127 have already gained recovery,” ministry added.
The Iranian Health Ministry also announced that so far total vaccination jabs are over 21 million, noting that over 5 million people have already received the second dose.
According to the latest figures, more than 209,604,004 people have so far been infected with the novel coronavirus globally, with the deaths standing at 4,398,665 and recoveries amounting to 187,867,253.
