Tehran, YJC. Head of Strategic Research Center of the Expediency Discernment Council Ali Akbar Velayati said on Wednesday that Iran can never be intimidated as is determined to continue its foreign policy.

Velayati made the remarks in reaction to recent anti-Iran allegations by the Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal on the sidelines of his meeting with visiting Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

Speaking to reporters, he said the Islamic Republic of Iran has taken significant strides towards broadening its foreign diplomacy since the triumph of the Islamic Revolution.

"Iran is now regarded as the most powerful and influential country in the region and all friends and enemies admit this reality,” he maintained.

Velayati asserted "Iran has always backed its friends in the region such as Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine in their struggles with terrorism.”

"Those countries who back the US and Zionists-sponsored terrorists in the region one day will find out their mistakes”

The Islamic Republic of Iran is to pursue its independent and principled policy in dealing with global hegemony and aliens in the region and never hesitates to defend the territorial integrity of regional states, friendly countries in particular, he said.
