WASHINGTON, October 22 (RIA Novosti) - It would be better for the United States to learn from Russia to maintain a more balanced approach on how to handle international conflicts, Director General of the Global Reform Fund, Dr. Victoria Panova told RIA Novosti.
"The US could learn to be less pro-somebody, as opposed to trying to find a balance, and trying to find a common ground,” Dr. Panova told RIA Novosti Monday.
Panova pointed out that "there has to be an ongoing cooperation [between Russia and US], it’s very applicable and practical."
"What would be necessary is that if America can listen to Russia... a broadened and universally accepted definition of terrorism, for instance, would be an important step," Panova stated.
Dr. Panova, who serves as the associate professor in the department of International Relations and Foreign Policy at MGIMO in Moscow, said, that President Putin’s proposal to force Syria’s Bashar Assad to remove his stockpiles of chemical weapons last year "was taken with jealousy from the United States, and probably was seen as an Obama failure", contrary to the success of Russia.
