The Iranian Health Ministry announced that 14,525 new Covid-19 cases have been detected in the country in the past 24 hrs.
The Iranian Health Ministry spokesperson announced on Friday that 14,525 new COVID-19 infections have been detected across the country in the past 24 hours 2,123 of which has been hospitalized.
“A sum of 14,525 COVID-19 infections and 235 deaths has been identified due to the disease in the past 24 hours” the spox said while adding that “This brings the total number of cases to 5,601,565.”
235 COVID patients have lost their lives in the past 24 hours that bring the total death toll 120,663,” the ministry added.
“5,841 people are being treated in ICUs in hospitals across the country, while 5,053,551 have already gained recovery,” the health ministry added.
The ministry also added that 32,306,789 coronavirus diagnosis tests have so far been carried out across the country while warning that “16 cities are rated red, 198 cities are orange, 176 cities are yellow, and 58 cities are blue.”
Iran has seen a major surge in the number of coronavirus deaths and infections in recent weeks as the Delta variant of the virus continues to spread across the country.
According to the latest figures, more than 234,727,548 people have so far been infected with the novel coronavirus globally, with the deaths standing 4,800,660 and recoveries amounting to 211,532,252.
