Tehran, YJC. Filigree is a prominent form of handicraft in Iran. It is most common in Isfahan and dates back to the pre-Safavid era.
The different kinds of objects embroidered with filigree are sajjadeh (which is a cloth that prayers use as floor covering), cases to hold holy scriptures, bundles, tablecloth, tea cloth, etc.
