Supreme Leader seconds amnesty motion

Tehran, YJC. The Supreme Leader has agreed to amnesty and commutation of sentence for 1,059.

The Supreme Leader’s Office website says that the Supreme Leader has agreed to the application to give amnesty or commutation of sentence to 1,059 sentenced by Public Courts, Islamic Revolutionary Courts, the Governmental Punishments Organization, or the Court-martial.

The amnesty is being given on the occasion of the New Year and the coming of April 1, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Day.

Ayatollah Amoli Larijani had in a letter to the Supreme Leader delivered the motion to the amnesty and sentence commutation for 1,059 who were deemed qualified by the Central Commission for Amnesty and Pardon of the Judiciary.
