Trump's attempt to prevent the release of documents attacking the Congress building failedA US federal court on Thursday evening rejected a request by former President Donald Trump to block the release of White House documents on the attack on the Congress building on January 6 this year.

The U.S. Court of Appeals upheld the verdict of a lower court, stating:
Incumbent President Joe Biden could lift the ban on the documents so they can be handed over to a congressional committee for investigation.

Trump, who has been accused by his critics of plotting the January 6 violence, intended to use the privileges granted to him as former president to keep the phone records of the attack secret.

But the Court of Appeal announced today Thursday:
Biden's arguments and views are more weighty in this case. The ruling of the Court of Appeals reads: "Certainly the rights of the former president do not weigh more than the rights of an incumbent president."

The court also ruled that in this case, Joe Biden, as chief executive, concluded that Congress needed the documents and that disclosing them was in the best interests of the American people.
