Amir-Abdollahian: Iran Welcomes further Cooperation with Azerbaijan

Wednesday, 22 December 2021 (YJC)_ Upon his arrival in Baku, Iranian Foreign Minister said that Iran welcomes further economic and trade cooperation with Azerbaijan.

Amir-Abdollahian: Iran Welcomes further Cooperation with AzerbaijanUpon his arrival in Baku, the capital of the Azerbaijan Republic, the Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian emphasized that economic and trade cooperation with Azerbaijan is Iran’s desire.

Having high-level meetings with the officials of the Republic of Azerbaijan, we conclude that the relations between the two countries are growing, developing, and strengthening which made us satisfied,” Amir-abdollahian said.

“Iran has variety of ideas for expanding bilateral cooperation and I will bring them forth in the meeting with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev,” he announced.

During the past three months, the Iranian Foreign Minister and his Azeri counterpart have been in touch and have held meetings in New York, Ashgabat, and Islamabad. Expanding the cooperation was among the issues discussed in these meeting.

Iranian Foreign minister also announced that, in a meeting with the President of Azerbaijan, he will finalize the quality of the frameworks and said “Iran welcomes further economic and trade cooperation with Azerbaijan.”

This is Amir-Abdollahian's first visit to Baku since his appointment as foreign minister which is done upon Jeyhun Bayramov’s invitation.
