The head of the Iranian foreign ministry office in Qom province said "The Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijan, considering the country’s situations, has asked the foreign ministry’s office in Qom about measures to be made for a trade delegation from Qom to visit Azerbaijan.”

Makarem pointed to a recent trip by president Rouhani to Azerbaijan as having laid grounds for more active political cooperation between the two countries and said "No doubt, sending a trade delegation from the province to Azerbaijan will be a positive step in strengthening the countries’ relations. It will also sooth sensitivities that the country’s officials hold against the province of Qom.”
