As Russian officials announce several successful tests of the supersonic missile in recent months, Britain's top military official has announced that London is preparing to build the missile.
According to Sputnik news agency, Tony Radakin, the head of the "British Defense Staff" (the highest military official in Britain) on Friday (yesterday) spoke to a British media about supersonic missiles.
Radakin, 56, told the Times that Britain had plans to build supersonic missiles to compete with Russia's growing military capability.
"We (Britain) do not have them (supersonic missiles) and we should have them," the senior British military official said.
In this interview, the head of the "British Defense Staff", while expressing concern over the escalation of tensions on the Ukrainian-Russian border, reiterated the claims and accusations of the West and NATO member states against Russia.
Radakin also told the Times that he had offered "military options" to Boris Johnson's cabinet in response to a possible military escalation (between Russia and Ukraine). He declined to comment further on the "military options".
