Saturday, 8 January 2022 (YJC)_Iranian top negotiator said South Korea is obliged to pay its debts to Iran.
Rejecting South Korea's resort to the US sanctions as a pretext to delay its debts, Iranian top negotiator, Ali Bagheri Kani said South Korea is obliged to pay its debts to Iran.
In a meeting with South Korean Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Jong Kun in Vienna, he said “The South Korean government is obliged to pay our debts. To refuse the payment it is not a good option to think US unilateral sanctions as a resort.”
“Seoul has to act immediately to unfreeze Iranian assets,” he finally noted.
For his part, the South Korean Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs said “South Korea would make every efforts to pay its debts to Iran.”
