The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, left for Beijing today (Thursday) at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, to hold talks with Chinese officials at the head of a high-level political delegation.
The study of bilateral relations in the political, economic and cultural fields, as well as dialogue on international and regional issues are among the agendas of the visit of the Head of the Diplomatic Corps of the Islamic Republic of Iran to China.
This is Amir-Abdollahian's first visit to China since taking office. The Chinese Foreign Minister also traveled to Tehran in early April to sign a document on a comprehensive Iran-China cooperation program. As it was announced after the signing of this document, the mentioned document has been compiled in the direction of peace, stability and regional and international development, and therefore it is not in opposition to any third party or to interfere in the affairs of any country. This document is a roadmap for comprehensive cooperation between Iran and China and therefore does not contain any agreement.
Amir-Abdollahian and Wang Yi met on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, during which they discussed bilateral relations and regional developments several times by telephone and once online.
