Sunday, 23 January 2022 (YJC)_ A Russian expert described the Iranian president's visit to Moscow as a sign of a strong coalition between the two countries, and said that Russia considered Iran more than a partner and rarely an ally.

Russian expert: Moscow considers Iran more than a partner, but also an allyAndrei Ontikov, a Russian expert, described the visit of Iranian President Seyyed Ibrahim Raeisi to Moscow as a sign of strong ties and strong unity between the two countries.

Ontikov described the president's visit to Russia as "very important" and said that the trip was not limited to talks with his Russian counterpart, but also included a speech in the Russian Duma, which was a rare but very exceptional event.

He emphasized:
Russian officials consider Iran an ally, which is also rare, as Russia calls friendly countries partners and talks about an ally indicate the identity of Moscow-Tehran relations.

The Russian expert said:
The two countries have agreed on many issues and there is ongoing bilateral cooperation, which is reflected in the large volume of trade between the two countries.

He continued:
In many regional and international cases, such as Syria, we saw the cooperation of the two countries, so that Damascus, Tehran and Moscow, with the support of each other, succeeded in confronting terrorist groups in Syria, and thus the country maintained its sovereignty.

Referring to the nuclear talks in Vienna, he said:
Russia and China act as a shield against Western challenges, as the two countries stand by Iran in these negotiations.

Referring to the joint naval maneuvers of Iran, Russia and China, Ontikov stated:
These maneuvers reveal the depth of the three countries' relations, and Iran's accession to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization shows its importance at the regional level and its importance in relations with Russia and China.

The Russian expert pointed to the common position of the two countries regarding the Syrian case and the common position of the two countries with China in the Iranian nuclear case and said:
This will help find a solution in the Vienna talks and will not allow any country to pull out of the next deal, as the United States did under Trump.
