Tuesday, 25 January 2022 (YJC)_ "Kazem Jalali," the Iranian ambassador to Russia, described the recent meeting between the president and Putin in Moscow as long and very strategic, adding that the content of this meeting is a good roadmap for further development of bilateral relations.

Iranian Ambassador: The meeting between Raeisi and Putin was very strategicDuring a visit to the North Ossetia-Alanya region, Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali told the Tass news agency that a meeting between Iranian and Russian Presidents Seyed Ibrahim Ra'isi and Vladimir Putin would help strengthen relations between the two countries.

"Fortunately, Iran and Russia currently have very close relations," Jalali added.
The presidents had a long and very strategic meeting. The content of this meeting is a good roadmap for further development of bilateral relations.

He said Iran and Russia have much in common and share similar views on international politics. The Iranian ambassador to Russia further called science and education some of the key areas of cooperation between the two countries.

According to Tass, the Iranian ambassador's visit included a stop at North Ossetia's Khatagorov State University, and it was his first visit to the North Ossetian-Alanya region.

He also told reporters during a business trip on Monday that a possible alliance between Iran, Russia and China would be very painful for the West.

Jalali described Moscow as a great power with enormous economic, defense, military and technological potential. According to him, China is about to overtake the United States in terms of economic growth. He also said that Iran is a large and economically developed country that has made great strides in its defense industry.

The Iranian diplomat added:
That is why it would be very unpleasant for the West to form such an alliance [including Russia, Iran and China].
