In this regard, "Afikhai Adrei", the spokesman of the regime's army, claimed:
The Israeli army attacked targets inside Syria last night after firing surface-to-air missiles from Syria. Syrian radars, anti-aircraft guns fired at air force planes. Syrian anti-aircraft missiles exploded without the need for air interception. As a result, alarm bells sounded tonight in the Umm al-Fahm area and the city of Samarra.

Earlier, the official Syrian news agency (SANA) reported that the Syrian defense in the skies of Damascus had met with hostile targets.

A well-informed Syrian military source confirmed that at around 12:56 a.m. today, Israeli fighter jets fired missiles from southeast Beirut at Damascus, and at 1:10 a.m., surface-to-surface missiles fired from the occupied Golan Heights into parts of Syria. Shots were fired around Damascus, some of which were intercepted and destroyed by Syrian air defenses.

He added that in addition to the material damage, the attack killed one soldier and wounded five others.
