Saturday, 19 February 2022 (YJC)_ In Munich, the Foreign Ministers of Iran and Qatar discussed bilateral relations, developments in the region, including the situation in Afghanistan, and the upcoming visit of Ayatollah Ra'isi to Doha.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who arrived in Munich on Friday to attend the 58th session of the Munich Security Conference, met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani.
The latest developments in bilateral relations and issues of interest were among the topics discussed during the meeting.
During a visit to Tehran on February 26, Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani met with Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdullahian at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Emphasizing the importance of exemplary relations between the two sides, Amir Abdullahian expressed hope that the official visit of our President Seyyed Ibrahim Raeisi to Qatar in the next two days to participate in the OPEC Gas Summit and strengthen bilateral relations will be excellent.
Regional issues and developments in the Persian Gulf region and the latest developments in the Vienna talks were among the topics discussed by the two foreign ministers in Munich.
The Qatari Foreign Minister also announced that Doha was waiting for the visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and his accompanying delegation to Qatar.
He also welcomed the progress of the talks in Vienna and called the outcome of the talks a key issue for the region, and presented a report on Qatar's latest actions on Afghanistan and the ongoing talks between the two countries.
