Tuesday, 1 March 2022 (YJC)_ A White House spokesman rejected Kiev's request to impose a no-fly zone over Ukraine, saying there was no justification for changing the level of readiness of US forces.

White House: We have no evidence of war crimes in UkraineWhite House spokeswoman Jennifer Sackey said Tuesday morning that the United States was tightening sanctions against Russia in close coordination with the European Union.

Saki stated during a press conference:
We have provided more than $ 106 million in humanitarian aid and more than $ 44 million to the water sector in Ukraine. We assess [Putin] [Russian President]'s decision to put the nuclear deterrent on alert.

According to American media, she continued:
We look forward to a united NATO and allied Western countries against Putin. We see no justification for changing the level of readiness of American forces. We are intensifying our sanctions against Russia in close coordination with the European Union.

A White House spokesman added that pressure was mounting on Moscow:
We are working to tighten sanctions against Russia's elites and reduce their public interest in them. "We have more steps to take on sanctions against Russia, but we are taking into account many factors."

Saki also commented on Kiev's request to establish a no-fly zone over Ukraine:
The no-fly zone requires troops to enforce it, and this leads to a war with Russia that we do not want.

She added:
Sanctions against Russia are painful and have dire consequences. We are not intensifying our rhetoric and we are not evaluating what President Putin is saying, we have not changed our nuclear status and we are seeking to reduce tensions.

A White House spokesman stressed that they have no confirmation of war crimes in Ukraine.
All options are on the table regarding the ban on Russian aircraft using US airspace. We have been working on the decision to expel 12 Russian diplomats from the Russian mission to the United Nations for several months.
