Tuesday, 1 March 2022 (YJC)_ A White House spokesman rejected Kiev's request to impose a no-fly zone over Ukraine, saying there was no justification for changing the level of readiness of US forces.
White House spokeswoman Jennifer Sackey said Tuesday morning that the United States was tightening sanctions against Russia in close coordination with the European Union.

Saki also commented on Kiev's request to establish a no-fly zone over Ukraine:
The no-fly zone requires troops to enforce it, and this leads to a war with Russia that we do not want.
She added:
Sanctions against Russia are painful and have dire consequences. We are not intensifying our rhetoric and we are not evaluating what President Putin is saying, we have not changed our nuclear status and we are seeking to reduce tensions.
A White House spokesman stressed that they have no confirmation of war crimes in Ukraine.
