Wednesday, 2 March 2022 (YJC)_ Reiterating his call on European countries to establish a no-fly zone in Ukraine, the Ukrainian president claimed that the fall of Ukraine to Moscow would be a prelude to further Russian attacks on European countries.
Despite opposition from European countries and the United States to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's request for a no-fly zone over the country, he reiterated his request.
Zelenskyy said Wednesday morning:
Ukraine is fighting for freedom and democracy, and the countries of the civilized world must support our country in this struggle. Everyone knows what we are defending and we are sure that the support of the allies will continue and the desired result will be achieved.
According to Reuters, he stated:
We continue to hope that European friendly countries will respond to our request to establish a no-fly zone over Ukraine.
Reiterating baseless allegations against Russia, the President of Ukraine said:
The fall of Ukraine to Moscow will be a prelude to more Russian attacks on European countries. The bombing of Kharkiv by Russia is a war crime that should be investigated because it bombed civilian targets.
According to the report, Zelenskyy also claimed about the talks with Russia:
The second round of talks is unlikely. Kiev is under Russian bombardment with cruise missiles, and we call for an immediate ceasefire and dialogue after that.
He also added:
If our membership in NATO is in question, then it is necessary to receive security guarantees after the Russian invasion.
