Sunday, 20 March 2022 (YJC)_ Informed sources say the United States has unofficially offered Turkey to send its Russian S-400 missile defense system to Ukraine.

US request from Turkey to send S-400 to UkraineReuters quoted three informed sources as saying that the United States had unofficially asked Turkey to send Russian S-400 missile defense systems to Ukraine to be used by Kiev in the fight against Russia.

"US officials have made the offer to their Turkish partners over the past month but have not yet made any formal request to Turkey, and some sources say this was partly during a visit earlier this month." Wendy Sherman, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, has also been raised.

According to the report, the Biden government has asked its allies, who have used Russian equipment and missile systems such as the S-300 and S-400, to transfer these weapons to Ukraine to fight Russia.

Reuters says the offer to send Turkish S-400 systems to Ukraine was in fact part of a broader debate between Sherman and Turkish officials on how the United States and its allies support Ukraine and strengthen bilateral ties, although many analysts believe that Turkey Will oppose the offer to send S-400 to Ukraine.

According to Reuters, Turkish officials were not available for comment. However, Turkish sources and analysts say such a proposal is not effective for Turkey, and there are various reasons for this, including technical obstacles to the installation of the S-400 in Ukraine and political concerns such as Russia's negative reaction to a possible Turkish move.
