The Elysee Palace announced that French President Emmanuel Macron had held separate telephone conversations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday to discuss the terms of the ceasefire.
The statement added that "no agreement was reached" but that Macron "still believes that it is necessary to continue its efforts to establish a ceasefire". According to the statement, Macron also said he supported Ukraine against the Russian attack.
The Elysee Palace said in a statement on Tuesday that Macron's conversation with Putin focused on "the security situation for important issues."
