Iranian Oil Minister Javad Owji said Iran is about to increase its production of petrochemical products to 140mln tons.
“The capacity of petrochemical products will reach 140mln tons in the next 3 years,” he said while noting that Iran has signed $16.5bln of new deals in oil industry.
The names of domestic and foreign companies with which Iran has signed agreements in the past seven months is not publicly known due to sanctions.
Since the beginning of the new Iranian administration, the value of over 55 deals signed.
Prior to this, in March, Owji said that the country has been able to use 20 million barrels of oil that had been stored in tankers in the Persian Gulf for domestic needs.
