Monday, 25 April 2022 (YJC)_ A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Thursday's talks in Baghdad between Iran and Saudi Arabia were serious, positive and forward-looking.

Khatibzadeh: The Iran-Saudi dialogue was serious and forward-lookingSaeed Khatibzadeh, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, today (Monday) in a weekly meeting with reporters, while explaining the latest developments in the field of foreign policy, answered reporters' questions.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman initially celebrated Al-Quds Day in advance and stressed the responsibility of Islamic countries for the Palestinian cause.

This senior diplomat of our country added:
I hope that the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan and Quds Day will be held in the presence of all the great nation of Iran and the free nations and Muslim nations in Islamic countries as every year and more glorious than every year.

Khatibzadeh also referred to the anniversary of the defeat of the US military offensive in Tabas.

He spoke about the escalation of the crimes of the Zionist regime in occupied Palestine and the actions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in this regard:
What we are witnessing today in the Islamic world is the issue of the Islamic world, Palestine, and this regime is trying to make this a secondary issue. The public opinion of the Islamic world, despite the conspiracies of the Zionist apartheid regime, still considers the issue of Palestine as its first issue.

A spokesman for the diplomatic corps added:
It has become a tradition for this regime that whenever it normalizes its relations, it makes this regime more active. Due to its role in the world oppressed front, Iran tries to bring the views of the Islamic world closer to the issue of Palestine. All the different dimensions of the Palestinian issue show that this is the first issue of the Islamic world, and we hope that the divine promise will be fulfilled as soon as possible.

Khatibzadeh also mentioned about the fifth round of talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia:
The Iran-Saudi Arabia talks in Baghdad were held last Thursday with the efforts of the Iraqi government and the preparations and assistance of the Omani government, and the talks were positive and forward-looking. The frameworks that were envisaged from the beginning were examined and the talks were serious, and if it escalates to the political level, we will see progress in the framework of the negotiations. We will not be at the meeting point of the foreign ministers yet.
