Spanish Prime Minister: NATO support for Ukraine is unshakableSpanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has claimed that Russia will not achieve its goals in a special military operation in the Donbas region.

Speaking on Monday evening marking the 40th anniversary of Spain's membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Sanchez said the military alliance's support for Ukraine was unwavering.

According to Reuters, he explained:
Strong support for Ukraine is the only way to ensure that Europe and the world we build have a definite future.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, who was present at the ceremony, also claimed that the "cold explosion of conflict" in Ukraine would affect the historic NATO summit.

Speaking in Madrid, Stoltenberg said the NATO conference in Spain would also address threats from the coalition's southern wing.

He stated in this regard:
I hope the Madrid conference will give us a chance to take a step forward to meet the challenges of the South. Instability in the south is dangerous for the whole of NATO.

Earlier, Christopher Cowley, the US presidential nominee, said that the focus of NATO forces had shifted eastward, adding that this trend could continue for some time, depending on the outcome of the conflict in Ukraine.

NATO's claims to support Ukraine While Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Koleba strongly criticized the military coalition in support of Kiev in the Russian war, NATO said it had done little for Ukraine in that war.
