TEHRAN, YJC. Norman Lamont, UK Chancellor of the Exchequer and Chairman of the British Iranian Chamber of Commerce, said in an interview with IRNA published on Monday that he is looking forward to the reopening of the UK Embassy in Tehran.
He added,
however, that for now it seems that the issue of the embassy is somehow bound
to the nuclear negotiations.
Hoping that
international sanctions on Iran would be waived as soon as possible, he
asserted that for the sanctions to continue or grow any stricter will harm the
ongoing nuclear talks between Iran and P5+1 (the U.S., UK, Russia, China,
France, and Germany.
The UK fully
recognizes Iran's right in making peaceful use of the nuclear energy, he
asserted.
