Tehran, YJC. Rouhani attributed success of his government to the favorable regards from the people and the Supreme Leader.
Government's might is indebted to its social capital, because
we believe the people have so far been present in every scene and have so
supported the government and the nuclear team, said President Hassan Rouhani on
Sunday in remarks to Conference on Resistance Economy.
The conference was attended by governors general, Iranian
ambassadors to regional countries, and the ambassadors of the regional
countries to Tehran.
Speaking about his cabinet's foreign policy and the nuclear negotiations,
he emphasized that the nuclear negotiations are pursued to defend the Iranian nation’s
esteem and national interests.
The new makeup of the nuclear negotiation team proves the
Iranian nation's strong will to have constructive interactions with the world,
Rouhani stated.
The head of the Supreme National Security Council praised
the Iranian people as "well-wishers of the negotiating team”.
Rouhani said that the major portion of Iranians endorse the
nuclear team’s policies, citing the outcome of several opinion polls on the
issue, which have all indicated above 80% support of the people for the nuclear
talks.
He noted that it matters for Iran as a democratic country
what the majority says, regardless of unavoidable opposition by majority
factions.
