Tehran, YJC. Afkham voiced Tehran's steadfast opposition to foreign interference in Yemen on Wednesday.
Speaking to reporters in her weekly press conference in the
capital Tehran, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham stated
that Iran is opposed to foreign interference in Yemen, including attempts to
disintegrate the Arab country, maintaining that the conflicts should be settled domestically.
"Tehran supports dialogue and convergence to settle the case
in Yemen,” she asserted, adding that Tehran would seek an "integrated and
powerful” Yemen which will have good relations with its neighbors.
Afkham also that "domestic capacities” and parties in Yemen should
be tapped to resolve the problems in the country.
The official reiterated that Iran will support any deal
agreed upon by all political sides in Yemen.
"This is not the first time Iran is sending
humanitarian aid to Yemen," she pointed to Tehran’s humanitarian aid to
Sana’a.
People in Yemen need access to food and medical aid, she stated,
noting that part of these needs has been met since a memorandum of
understanding on air transport between the two countries’ capitals was put into
practice.
