Tehran, YJC. South Pars official says that the 19th phase of the field will be operational by March 2016.
Director of Pars Oil and Gas Projects Planning and Control
Morteza Elahi in interview with YJC said that the 19th phase of the
field will start production by the end of the current Iranian year (March
2016).
He maintained that the pipeline as well as drilling
operations of the phase are accomplished and the refinery has made 80 percent
progress in construction.
He noted that the phase was brick-lain in 2010 and has been
leading in terms of progress compared to Phase 13 with 72 percent, Phase 14
with 57 percent, Phase 18 with 84 percent, and phases 20 and 21 with 70 percent
progress each.
The official also provided comments on Phase 11 of South
Pars oil and gas field and stated that European companies are likely to join in
for developing the phase.
He noted that the European companies which had initially
decided to work on the phase had changed mind since international sanctions
were imposed on Iran’s oil industry.
He said that the Oil Ministry has decided for the time being
to start the off shore drilling of the phase before negotiations settle the
contraction side of the phase.
