Tehran, YJC. Senior MP says in the Iranian parliament the path to signing the NPT Additional Protocol will not be an easy one.
Lawmaker and Head of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committe Alaeddin Boroujerdi says that there will be no easy way to pass a law to grant the government the authority to sign the Non-Proliferation's Additional Protocol.

There has been controversy over the prospects of the Islamic Republic signing the protocol as a voluntary trust-building move for a final nuclear deal with world powers.

Commenting on the controversy, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Saturday that the government will abide by the Majlis rule.

Boroujerdi stated that it would be impossible for Iran to impose ilmits on its nuclera activities while the other side forget their obligations.

If the other side do not abide by their obligations, we will define new duties for the government, the senior MP asserted.

He reiterated that a final agreement which is to be reached July 1 would have to provide benefits for both sides in order to be agreeable.
