Iran’s President Hopes for World Peace, Justice in Christmas Message to Pope

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani offered Pope Francis Christmas greetings, hoping for interaction among followers of all divine religions and the establishment of peace and justice in the world in the New Year.
In a Saturday message to Argentine-born Pope Francis, the 266th and current Pope of the Roman Catholic Church, President Rouhani congratulated all Christians across the world on the birth anniversary of "the prophet of friendship and fraternity” Jesus Christ (PBUH).

Highlighting the great virtues of Jesus Christ, the Iranian president expressed the hope for interaction and close bonds among followers of different religions and for patience and dialogue among the wise people who pursue moderation and justice in 2017.

Christmas or Christmas Day is an annual commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ, celebrated generally on December 25 as a religious and cultural holiday by millions of people around the world.
