Iran’s gas output rises by 50 percent in 3 years, says oil minister

Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zangeneh said that the country’s gas output has rose by 50 percent since 2014.

Iranian oil minister further said that the country does not have any shortage in fuel tanks and burnt 27 billion liters of liquefied fuel in power plants.

Zangeneh said that Iran’s South Pars Gas Field’s output would equal that of Qatar by March 2017.

The Iranian official said that Iran exported 1.900 million oil barrels of gas last year, adding the country exported over 2.900 million barrels of oil since the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (started on March 20).

He noted that the country’s petrochemicals’ output would hit 5 million tons by March 20, 2017.
