TEHRAN, YJC. -- The United States is not ruling out joint moves with Russia on further cuts of the two countries’ offensive arsenals already before the end of President Obama’s second term in the White House an official said.
Rose Gottemoeller, Acting Undersecretary for Arms Control and International Security, mentioned the prospect when speaking at an annual conference on nuclear security.

She hailed the good pace of implementing a pertinent agreement the Russian and American leaders signed three years ago. To this she added that the US sought deeper nuclear reductions before the treaty expires seven years from now.

Rose Gottemoeller also hinted at Washington’s readiness to listen to Moscow’s concerns about European missile defense and discuss it in tandem with the issue of strategic offensive weapons.

"We want to get back to the negotiating table,” Gottemoeller added.
