Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif reiterated that Iranian companies are ready for investment in Sri Lankan technical and engineering sectors.
"Iranian private companies are keen to increase commercial exchanges with Sri Lanka. Iranian firms are ready to make investment in Sri Lankan technical and engineering sectors,” he said in a meeting with the visiting Sri Lanka's Parliament Speaker Karu Jayasuriya.
Karu Jayasuriya, for his part, said his country is willing to expand bilateral ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all sectors.
"Grounds have been provided for further development of bilateral ties between the two countries following easing sanctions on Iran.”
The two sides also explored mutual cooperation in sharing technology, exporting Iran’s crude to Sri Lanka, agricultural cooperation, exchanging delegations and cooperation in international circles.
