Araghchi called for strengthening cooperation between IORA member countries in business and investment field.
The
Ministerial meeting of Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) stated in Jakarta,
Indonesia, with Iran’s deputy FM Abbas Araghchi and Valyollah Mohammadi, Iran’s
ambassador in Jakarta, attending the meeting.
In the meeting, with the motto of marine
strength and cooperation for peace, stability, and prosperity of Indian Ocean’s
marginal countries, Araghchi said that lifting some sanctions after Iran’s
nuclear deal (JCPOA) has paved the way for increasing economic cooperation
between the member countries of IORA organization, specially in Persian Gulf.
Pointing
to the significance of IORA as an influential organization in global changes,
Araghchi called for strengthening cooperation between the member countries in
terms of IORA’s 6 priorities specially in business and investment field.
The organization currently has 21
members including Iran, South Africa, Australia, Bangladesh, Comoros, India,
Indonesia, Kenya, Madagascar, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mozambique, Oman, United
Arabic Emirates, Seychelles, Singapore, Somalia, Sir Lanka, Tanzania, Thailand,
and Yemen.
US, UK, Japan, Germany, France, and China are 7 talking partner countries in IORA.

members of IORA take part in a meeting held on Tuesday at the level of top
officials such as president, vice presidents, and prime minister, and Mohammad
Javad Zarif will attend the meeting on behalf of Iran’s president Hassan
Rouhani.
