TEHRAN, April 21, YJC - Presidential candidates are legally permitted to start campaigns for the 12th Presidential elections in Iran based on the Article 66 of the Constitution, Election Headquarters Director Ali-Asghar Ahmadi said.

"Based on the Article 66 of the Constitution, campaign activities of the presidential elections can be officially started since the final list of presidential candidates are announced,” he said Thursday.
He continued that the candidates can continue their activities until one day before the election.
The Iranian Interior Ministry has released the final list of candidates qualified to run in the forthcoming presidential election.
Iran’s Interior Ministry on Thursday night gave the following list of eligible candidates (in alphabetical order) vetted by the Guardian Council.
• Mostafa Aqa-Mirsalim
• Mostafa Hashemi-Taba
• Es'haq Jahangiri
• Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf
• Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi
• Hassan Rouhani
Iran will simultaneously hold the 12th presidential election and the 5th City and Village Councils Elections on May 19.
