Tehran, YJC. Defense Minister says that the country’s new fighter will be completed within the current Iranian year.
Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi in an interview with local news agencies provided comments on the Iranian Armed Forces’ plans for the current
year and said "The completion of the Kosar fighter is on the Defense Ministry’s
agenda, but it will not be complete within the first half of the year.”
"This fighter enjoys new features compared to other similar
models, but let them be told at the inaugural,” Vahidi said.
The Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics also pointed
to other programs by the Ministry for the first half of the current Iranian year
and said "In the marine section we will
have some projects operational, for example a new submarine will be slipped
into water and a hovercraft with rockets will be added to our fleet.”
He also added "New cruise, air-based, and missiles of the Islamic
Republic will also be operational within the first half of this year.”
"In the air section, too, new helicopters, aircrafts,
drones, and a number of other weaponry will be operational,” Vahidi further
said.
